AS in previous news the government told that the Management quota seats in engineering colleges admission is through online only, But on this Tuesday i.e. 11th Sep 2012 The High court of AP declared that the admission into Management quota seats in engineering colleges cannot be done through the online process for this year.
The state government will be approaching the Supreme Court against the AP High Court orders staying the online admission process for management quota seats (category-B) in engineering colleges.
“The government will file a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court soon challenging the stay orders. We have consulted the law department on the issue. The SLP is expected to be filed within a day or two,” said Prof.Jayaprakash Rao, chairman of AP State Council of Higher Education.
As per the schedule earlier released by APSCHE, students had to submit online applications for
Management quota seats from September 12, Wednesday. The APSCHE had also devised an exclusive portal for the purpose with the assistance of the Centre for Good Governance. Colleges were asked to upload details on the availability of management quota seats branch wise by September 11 and the initiative had received a good response with 500 engineering colleges uploading their seat position details by Tuesday.
Students and parents were also happy as the new initiative would check sale of seats by college managements by collecting huge donations and they were assured seats in top colleges if they had the requisite merit in AIEEE or Eamcet or qualifying exam (10+2).
However, their plans received a serious setback with the HC granting stay orders on the online admissions method for this year. With this, the online admissions method has been stalled and there is no need for students to submit online applications from Wednesday. Officials failed to clarify the admission method that would be followed now by the managements to fill their quota of seats.
